FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about the chapel cleaning.
How do I get into the building?
Access uses two codes. At the gate, enter the gate code and confirm with the hash key (#). Then go to the bin room (around the corner to the left of the main entrance; the outside door is always open). The black lock is on the right-hand wall — place your finger on the panel just above the round sensor and hold it there until the keypad lights up. Enter the PIN and confirm with the tick (✓). Use the key you take out to open the side emergency door nearest the bins. You receive the codes by e-mail or text before your week.
How do I enter the gate code?
Enter the gate code and confirm with the hash key (#). The gate will open.
How do I open the lock with the key?
The lock is in the bin room on the right-hand wall. Place your finger on the panel just above the round sensor and hold it there — the keypad lights up. Then enter the PIN and confirm with the tick (✓). The keypad goes dark again after a while of inactivity; just wake it the same way.
Where is the bin room?
Facing the main entrance, it is around the corner to your left. The outside door to it is always open.
What if I cannot come this week?
Arrange a substitute — first within your team, then your group, and if needed anyone else in the ward. It is your responsibility to let people know and agree on cover.
How do I know what and how to clean?
In the cleaning rooms on the lower and upper floor you will find a cleaning plan and work procedure for each area — what to clean, how, and with what. You will find an overview of the areas on the Map page.
Which area should I clean?
Check the sheet in the cleaning room to see what is already done. Pick any area that has not been cleaned. If only one is left, you clean that one.
Do we all have to come together as a group?
No. Come during the week whenever it suits you — there is no need to come together.
What if everything is already cleaned when I arrive?
Then nothing is required. You can walk through the chapel and tidy anything that would still help — but that is entirely voluntary.
What are the rules for food in the fridge and freezer?
Nothing should stay longer than a week and everything must be labelled (whose it is and until when). Throw away unlabelled or expired food and wipe out the fridge. If food is in a nice dish, bin the food, wash the dish and put it in lost and found.
How does lost and found work?
By the lost-and-found box there are labels and a pen — write the date on what you find. Anything left longer than a month is thrown away.
Where are the cleaning supplies?
The cleaning supplies, along with the cleaning plans and work procedures, are in the cleaning rooms on the lower and upper floor.
